Donations

Donations are always accepted at Highlands Thrift Store in Abingdon, VA! Donating your used items is a blessing to others in the community, and we make the process a simple one.
You are more than welcome to drop off small items at our dock doors in the back of the store during normal business hours. Please abide by the guidelines that we list below with regards to what we accept and what we do not accept while making your donations. This makes the process a hassle-free one for the both of us.
We accept:
• Clothing
• Shoes
• Purses and Accessories
• Kitchenware and Dishes
• Jewelry
• Collectibles and Antiques
• Books
• Electronics
• CDs, DVDs, Tapes, and Records
• And More!
Donations we do not accept:
• Any Worn, Ripped, or Stained Furniture
• Computer Equipment Greater than Five Years Old
• Console TVs
• Pianos
• Organs
• Sofa Beds
• Large Appliances
• Oversized or Metal Desks
• Textbooks and Encyclopedias
• Items Utilizing Gas or Propane
• Ski Equipment
• Bowling Balls
• Recalled Products
• Items That are Unsellable
While we appreciate every intention to donate items to our store, some things are simply too large, unsafe, or not in demand. The cost for us to discard or recycle these items is something we would like to avoid. We ask that you please help us avoid these costs by adhering to our donation guidelines.
